Seminar: Practical Applications of AI in the Law

What is artificial intelligence and how can AI help you today? Lucy Dillon, Chief Knowledge Officer at Reed Smith, and Kevin Miller, CEO of LegalSifter, discuss AI and provide practical examples of eleven segments to help you save time, improve quality, and deliver new, enhanced services.

The segments we explore include Drafting, Contract Management, eDiscovery, Legal Research, Legal Analytics, Prediction, Expertise Automation, IP, eBilling, Contract Due Diligence, and Contract Review.

The Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) hosted the event on July 11, 2018.

 

Our Speakers

lucy-dillonLucy Dillon is responsible for the delivery of the firm’s knowledge and information strategy. Her role is to ensure easy access to the relevant information and knowledge required to deliver exceptional client service. Using technology and project management to deliver legal service efficiently is a key focus of the firm’s Practice Innovation team, which Lucy’s leads. She also identifies opportunities for the firm to share its collective knowledge with our clients to help them deliver their own strategic goals. Lucy was a commercial litigator with Linklaters before moving to a knowledge management role. After completing an MBA, she joined Berwin Leighton Paisner as their first Director of Knowledge Management. She is a regular speaker at KM conferences in the UK and the US and contributes to legal management journals. Lucy was named as one of the “KM Power 20” by Legal Business in December 2014.

kevin-millerKevin Miller joined LegalSifter in September 2015 after nearly nine (9) years at Industrial Scientific Corporation (ISC), a global safety company committed to ending death on the job by the end of the century.  Kevin completed his tenure as Chief Operating Officer.  Prior to ISC, he helped launch an online version of Argosy University, with regionally-accredited bachelors’, masters’, and doctoral programs in business, education, and psychology. Before Argosy, he spent nearly six (6) years in a variety of roles at FreeMarkets and Ariba, its acquirer, in the global sourcing and procurement software space.  Kevin holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, a Master of Business Administration degree from the Mason School of Business at the College of William & Mary, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Davidson College.  Kevin is also a licensed attorney in the state of Ohio.
